Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
